Sustainability Policy

As an environmental firm, Huff & Huff (H&H) is committed to being a leader in sustainability in our daily operations and our approach to client-based projects.

H&H established an internal environmental committee to identify and implement sustainable office operations and practices.  These sustainable practices include assessing the carbon footprint of the office operations and establishing specific goals for reducing paper and energy consumption.  Initiatives, such as spent battery collection and monetary incentives for purchasing fuel efficient vehicles, have been implemented to increase employee awareness and participation.

H&H endorses storm water, remediation, and wetland projects that incorporate sustainable features.  H&H encourages participation in professional and association committees to develop sustainable practices in the industry.

We strive to improve the local environment through volunteer activities and daily conservation.  This includes annual cleanups of Salt Creek and Montrose Beach.  In addition, the following practices are implemented:

1)  Established internal “Environmental Committee” focused upon reducing our impact upon natural resources.

2)  Developed an employee incentive program to purchase energy efficient vehicles.

3)  Promoted paper reuse and reduction in paper consumption.

4)  Calculated carbon footprint of office.

5)  Purchased hybrid vehicle for office.

6)  Installed automatic shut-off of conference room and lunch room lights.
